After yesterdays Trim and maintenance.
I am starting to keep the Hairgrass trimmed and less unruly looking. I am considering going to get another tub from AquaMania and fill in the left mid/back portion. The front Hairgrass as you can see is firmly rooted and thriving.
For those with sharp eyes, you'll notice two of my Buce are going to be flowering soon. One of the plants was the original one that flowered. Must be happy where it is.
While the H.difformis is doing it's job, when I trimmed the tank yesterday, most of it was on the verge of hitting the water column. I sure would rather have Stargrass but I can wait. Eventually someone is bound to have it.
Yes, it's almost time for Snailmeggdon again. I'm going to start putting down my snail traps (slice of cucumber on a veggie clip) in the evening so I can remove in the morning. Simply brush off the offending snails into the bin and replace cucumber in the Aquarium. I know that my Oto will appreciate it.
Still milling the idea of Neon Tetras. Just 5, but it would add a seriously nice splash of color.

Still thinking Neons, the striking colors would for sure really liven up the tank. The Chili Rasboras are deep red/orange but maybe it's the fact, I just have five (which bioload wise = 1 Neon) that causing me to think Neons...
Another trim tomorrow. I plan to purchase a tub of Hairgrass tomorrow (if they have any, chances are they will not) from AquaMania. After I am done with tank maint, before I refill, I'll plant the Hairgrass on the left side and that should cover it! I prefer the Hairgrass, HC was nice, but massively labor intensive.
I keep checking their tanks to see if they have B.brigattae, as if they do... new additions. My goal is to have 17 in the tank. That would look wonderful.

Been a while, things are moving along (as you can see). My Buce is flowering all over the place. I have 2 flowering and 1 more ready to go. I'm impressed indeed.
The hairgrass is really taking off and starting to fill in any place it can get a foothold. I'll be supplying a full tank shot on Monday after my water change. I never did purchase another tub, it's moving too fast to warrant adding extra.
Still thinking Neons... still nothing on the Chili Rasboras. Feeling I might be waiting for Spring 2020.

8 Chili Rasboras on the way, Tuesday morning arrival time. Woo hoo! The reason for 8? 5 Chilis = 1 Neon. So I plan to get a small group (5) of Neon Tetras as well.
More updates later

After yesterday's clean and trim. Tomorrow, 8 more Chili Rasboras... then plans for;
> More Cherry Shrimp, maybe another 20 to refresh the genetics > 5 Neon Tetras > A few Assassin Snails to help reduce the Snail infestation I have going on.
Other than that, everything is doing wonderfully and looking forward to the new fish tomorrow.

The Chili's have arrived! All 8 very healthy, very active and as always packaged excellent. Thanks again Angelfins, always a pleasure! They are now getting accustomed to their new digs.
That brings the Chili Rasbora population up to 13. I'm a firm believer in Odd numbered schools.

Let there be Chili's (tempted to add "Peppers" at the end of that phrase).
While you'll have to Zoom in, amazing how quickly they colored up!

All the Chilis are now at home. They are all colored up to their fullest, active, and possibly risk takers (they jump into my net when catching trimmings during Sunday afternoon maintenance).
I still have some HC lingering. A small patch is growing on one of my rocks. I am going to let it grow. Causing no harm and does it give it a more natural look to an obviously Dutch Style Tank.

Wow, it's been a while, I'll post some updated pictures later this evening...
Tank is doing great. Been really tweaking the trimming and getting things to where I like. My little pieces of HC on the rock have now become a small colony and my Buce is constantly flowering.

A few things;
- You'll notice the HC growing quite happily on the rock at the front (where the Oto is)
- Blyxa is now dominating the back of the Aquascape. Took some serious removing and trimming to clean it up
- The Buce is flowering like crazy
I'm impressed how things are turning out. All inhabitants are happy. My thoughts on Neon Tetras have waned for now, though I am still considering it.
Maintenance is down to 1 hour and still on Sunday afternoon.

This is fantastic! I started at the beginning and got about half way through all of your posts - then skipped to the end because I couldn't resist seeing the end result! But I plan to go back and read the rest. I love all of the time, effort, and detail you've put in your posts! Beautiful tank!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm a little off the charts when it comes to detail but if it helps someone, then it's all worth it.
Loads of reading, may rival War and Peace. At least mine has pictures.
