Our membership cards and how they work have some critical changes: All memberships are now due in January of each year, if someone purchases a membership later in the year (after August/ September), the card will be at a pro rated or discounted price and adjust in relation to how long the membership is valid for-they will all still expire in January even if purchased later (at a discounted rate). The full prices remain the same: $20 per person, or $25 for a family. $15 for anyone under 16 who joins alone. Discounts on aquarium related products currently honored: -Sam's Pampered Pets: 15% off Fish . 10% off fish related products -Aqua Animania: 10% off small fish related products and 15% off Big Ticket Fish related products . No discount on fish. -Petslife (in Sarnia)- 10% -Pets and Ponds (not the Website! located in Strathroy) -Living Things (in Chatham, follows the same guidelines when honoring the Chatham Society cards- discount only offered after a Chatham Society meeting, so if you attend a Chatham Society meeting you can use our discount cards too) The 2017 card: For more information visit the society website at: windsoraquariumsociety.zohosites.com/

Just wondering if we've approached Petsmart, Aqua Mania, etc.?

Did we write to them or approach in-person?
I have an idea that may convince them.

Would be interested in your ideas. Maybe P.M. Ryan, Glen and myself.

Let me know if Petsmart allows it. They tend to be very corporate and won't even donate items to clubs. They also don't allow advertising in the store.

I think it's PetSmart wide. Just their policy.

That's exactly what they told us. Its just a corporate policy. They must have uniform rules across their stores, so giving one club in one town a discount or donated items strays from that.

"Corporate policy" is a silly response in these times. Giving donations to non-profit animal societies is called giving back to the community and part of their social responsibility. Not intending to sound harsh about that store, but I've had other franchise pet stores provide the very thing they're denying so I think it's just smoke and mirrors.

We will definitely be trying again with them

I know bro. It's not like they can't write it off so at the end of the day everyone wins. For me, it's not about the discount per se but the principle.

I heard about the Windsor Aquarium Society from one of your members some weeks ago. Since then I was curious about becoming a member but I don't know how to go about paying the membership fee. Is there an online payment or do I meet up with someone? More information would be helpful. Thanks!
