Hi Guys!! Im creating this thread for all my HAP submissions... First I'd like to start out by showing how I "pot" cuttings... I use a DIY mineralized soil substrate, with dolomite powder at the bottom, and I cap it with "play sand" Here is the setup: This is the bottom showing "weed blocker" cloth and dolomite powder This pic shows the mineralized soil inside... I let the cup sit in a deli cup fill of aquarium water, and with holes drilled in the bottom, it starts the wicking process, bring the dolomite powder up into the mineralized soil. This is now ready to plant. then I cap it all off with play sand. Normally I would just plant my cuttings in the substrate of another tank, or next to the parent plant... but for the sake of the HAP, I figure this way would be easier for "control purposes"...

First to be witnessed (correct me if I am doing this wrong....) Hemianthus micranthemoides (Also sold as: H. glomeratus) ** NOTE** It is said that H. micranthemoides is a species that may be extinct. It is still today sold more as H. micranthemoides though... Common Name is Pearl weed, or Pearl Grass This is the cutting I chose: Prepped for planting (lower/bad leaves removed) Potted 01/15/14 Thanks!

Awesome great start. Make sure you print off a HAP form for each plant you do and fill it including each plants scientific name. Pearl Grass Witnessed

Ok... Ok! A break from "cuttings" Here's a liverwart: Lomariopsis cf. lineata AKA : Süßwassertang pronounced Suss-swasser-tang I believe the process here is "doubling" I use a rock, I place the Süßwassertang on top of it, and stretched a piece of 'fishnet' stocking over it, tying it off at one end. Before: Secured: Cheers.

Sagittaria subulata, liverwart, and Taiwan moss is now Witnessed. Great job on securing down your liverwart and taiwan moss. And yes i will always have forms with me at each meeting. Another option I do because I also do not have a printer myself is email the forms to yourself and go to your local library and print of the forms.

yeah that works! Thanks! A tip on the 'fishnets'... They're ridiculously expensive if you go to a lingere shop or something to buy them, BUT dollar stores usually have them, I picked up the ones I have around Halloween... I think they were a buck... I like that better than wrapping them w/thread. However, when going to the counter with fishnet stockings, super, glue and epsom (bath) salts, it kinda raises eyebrows... LMAO!
