Display tank will have to be drilled and plumbed to drain to the sump, or use a syphoning overflow box. Sump itself is just a tank usually in the cabinet. It can just house some equipment and a return pump, but most people have 3 chambers. First chamber has the water from the display drain into it, plus equipment (skimmer, heater, GFO reactor, etc).
