Anyone here keep puffer fish? What are your thoughts on them? What are their water conditions? What do they eat? I'm considering getting one since I have too many empty tanks for my own good lol.

I have kept Puffers for many years, great fish with so much personality. I have Figure 8 's and Green Spotted Puffers. Tank size is 20g minimum and 10g for every additional Puffer. They tolerate a wide range for PH but they must have salt in there water. F-8 don't need as much salt about 2 TBS per 5g , you can use API aquarium salt or sea salt and they can stay at this salt level for there entire lives. GPS need sea salt, Instant Ocean is recommended, and there salt levels have to increase as they mature. Diet, there staple food is Blood Worms, they eat Shrimp pellets, earth worms, whole frozen Shrimp and snails. They have to eat something with a shell to keep there beak worn down, it is a tooth in the center of the mouth that always grows and if not worn down will grow to the point that the fish can't eat anything. If well fed they are not aggressive, I keep mollies with my puffers. All Puffers are wild caught so you do have to watch what you buy. Look for good colour on there black and yellow and pure white belly, not gray looking . Any other questions feel free to ask. Love my Puffers!! BTW Sam's has some really nice F-8's and GSP in stock as of last Thursday when I was there.

I read so many different things online about how to keep puffer fish but since you've been keeping them for many years I'll take your advice. Actually, I saw the puffers at Sam's a couple days ago. That's actually what made me want one lol. Now it's a matter of convincing my husband haha.
