Congrats on the spawn! Why not try to save them? I currently don't have a free tank i can set up to move the rest of the fish. I have id'd the female and will be shuffling fish out of my tanks to make room to actively breed them again. After I snapped the pic he abandonded the eggs. They still survived to morning but as it is his first spawn I figured he wouldn't sit on them the whole time.

Well a while back I acquired a trio of high fin Hamburg alpha swordtails from Charlie Drew. Finally a few weeks ago they dropped fry! Only a few thought, it was their first fry!
Also a few months back Les and I won an auction on Aquabid for two reverse trios of Alpha Red swords. Today I just pulled 11 fry from the tank! The female was not even looking that big to be pregnant!

I purchased a pair of Betta smaragdina at the London auction on May 7, up until Friday morning I wasn't sure the male was interested in spawning yet. Well today I have about 20-30 wrigglers in the huge bubble nest and the male is a very good dad so far.

Some one needed to re-home a few African Cichlids and about a week later, 2 paired off, and that was a couple weeks ago. I never had African Cichilds before, and they are amusing to watch, moving gravel around all the time. They have been amazing with their spawn, so many tiny specks swimming around is also fun to watch

hehe I don't know what kind they are, going to have to take a picture of them to see what kind they are. The lady who gave them to me did not know either.

This one has me pretty excited. Sorry for the glare, scratches and not quite in focus shot but my Nanochromis splendens spawned a couple days ago. The pic is the wigglers in the cave (removed from the tank they spawned in with out mom or dad). Hopping for the best!!! Can't get a pic of the parents because they are in dark tannin stained water so I will post a pic from the net of what the parents look like.

So pretty hard to see but there are fry behind the heater. Wasn't sure any of the Nanochromis splendens fry would survive without the parents, well to be honest, I was almost certain they wouldn't. I was sooo WRONG!! I currently have about 36, 1 week post hatch fry in my tank. The fry are relatively big for the size of the parents, parents are only 2 inches for the male and slightly less for the female.

Good job breeding these , they are not often seen .
