Just wondering what people are keeping with their Bettas. Mine is in a 3 gallon tank living in solitude. Are there any fish recommended to keep in a tank that size?

Personally I do not keep any other fish with my betta! If the other fish are too fast eaters usually the betta loose out on food! Maybe a small pleco, that can be rehoused as it gets larger.

I was thinking maybe pygmy cory or oto cats.

I would think Pygmy Cory would be harassed if not eaten, however ottos might work!

Watching this video, you might be right... looks like a matter of time before some tails go missing

Most people actively advise against a community for bettas in anything less than a 20 gallon without a ton of plant cover for everyone to hide in. I agree, for the most part.
That said, my sister is currently keeping a betta, 10 neon tetras, and a few shrimp inside a 10 gallon and has only lost a smaller shrimp plus one tetra's eye. The tetras have learned very quickly to be on the opposite side of the tank at all times.

I have known of a betta that ate pygmy corys and another that eats cherry shrimp. And betta's and fancy guppys are the worst fish to put together as the betta thinks the males guppies with there big tails are another male betta and will kill them. There are exceptions but I certainly would not risk it. I had a betta with platys at one time with no issues but there really not good community fish.

Agreed with Glen. My betta went after the cories and shrimp. Made the whole tank stressful. He is alone now.

A 5-gallon fish tank is best for a betta. You should not have more than one male betta in the same tank. You can keep more than one female betta fish in the same tank. Neon tetra, bristlenose plecos you can keep with your betta fishes.
