What are your plans this year for either your pond and any container water garden you might be planning this year ?

Great new section for our pond lovers. So I will be setting up another container pond this year, I had tried my hand at different containers the last few years. But last year I used a 40 gallon retired plastic garbage can and it worked really well. Lucky for me I have 3 of them and will likely be setting up 2 this year. I have also had wild type guppies outside every other year, but this year I am going to try some wild type endlers and I am sure they will do just as well. I may even try another fish species but I am still planning it out. Floating live plants will also be used in these container ponds. In previous years I had used wisteria, hornwort, salvinia, red root floaters, duckweed and water lettuce. This year I will be floating star grass. Once set up I will have a thread on these container ponds.

This is a great new section, and just in time for the pond season.
I will be setting up the following fish in outdoor water gardens. White Cloud Mountain minnows as always. Red striped pencil fish, last year did not work out well for these fish, I think I put them out too late! Black Diamond Tetras, this will be my first attempt with these fish! Hope I can get a spawn or two out of them! I think u have two females and 3 males, should be interesting! Also I am planning on keeping a few aquariums outdoors as well. These will house a few different types of Endlers Livebearers.
However my main project will be a shallow fancy goldfish pond project. I will post pictures as this project develops. My idea is to use whatever I have laying around the house to make this happen! My wife always wanted goldfish so why not try this out?

Awesome thread! always liked water gardens and ponds! Last year I picked up 90 gallon with stand for FREE!! It's in really rough shape but it holds water unfortunately I have no room for it in my new fishroom soooo I'm thinking of setting it up outside nothing is in stone yet just ideas running threw my head

I used a 10 gallon tank outside for the very first time I tried fish outdoors. The biggest issue was algae on the glass for me at the time. But with the right fish in there that like to eat algae with some cleaning you could have a really nice outside tank.

Steve, I wish I had your problem! A free 90, and room to set it up outside! I will have several smaller tanks and a few buckets!

Steve, I wish I had your problem! A free 90, and room to set it up outside! I wouldn't wish going from a 15 foot by 25 foot basement fishroom down to a 6 foot by 8 foot bedroom on anyone! It really sucks! I didn't get in to details but the 90 gal came with a truck load of junk so free but not so free

Lol the truck load of junk is just a bonus! Just to keep things interesting! You got to set up some fire red cherries on that bad boy! After the season you should have hundreds!

Wait for the sales at TSC and get some water troughs. They make great ponds.

Mine went out late this year due to cool conditions. Things are only now starting to take off. I have 5 tubs outside.

Galaxy rasboras and a species of Boraras in the little tubs, and the big ones have diamond tetras, kribs and praecox rainbows. I do species only in case they breed.

That would be nice. At the very least I like pulling out how many I put in.
