Purchased 5 dragon blood peacocks (ca. 2" ea) last week at PetWise. Thanks Keith for telling me about them. A little pricey ($20 ea - the most I've paid for a fish). They are beautiful fuchsia (my wife says that's a color) I put them in my large mixed cichlids tank. I had to move 2 large OB peacocks (one male and one female) out of the that tank because both the male and the female began madly chasing the new db's around. Being true to their nature, i.e., 'Peacocks', they immediately established ownership of territories in the tank by vigorously pushing the other peacocks away. I only purchased males. I've seen how insanely aggressive they become when a female is present. Interestingly, their aggression is largely conspecific. They ignore other species and seem invisible to the other species. In any case, I figured that with cichlids, more is better - not just in terms of color in the tank, but to disperse the aggression. So today I bought 5 more db's at Aquamania. These are a little smaller (ca. 1.5") and less $ ($9 ea.). So the 10 db's seem to have settled in well. I'm attaching a few pics. I'm also attaching a pic of the male OB that had to be moved out of the community tank and is now sulking in a smaller tank (until the new DB's get established). Cheers Attachments:

Sorry for the delayed response. I haven't looked at the forum for a few days. Thanks for the affirmations. The dragon bloods went in the 220gallon (which now has a bridge to the 125gallon). I put the OB peacocks (Rodney and Rosanne) in a 20 gallon temporarily, to let the smaller guys get established in the 220 gallon. A couple days ago, I put the male OB peacock (Roodney) back in the 220gal w. the dragon bloods. It gets complicated. The pecking order of cichlids is often bewildering. I had a larger male OB peacock (Big Red) in the 125 gallon who found his way through the bridge into the 220 gal w. the smaller male OB, Rodney (the one that was harassing the DB's). The larger OB (Red) ignored the smaller DB's entirely and made it his mission to keep Rodney in the corner and we had several days of peace. I also put in 15 small Rusty cichlids. The busyness seems to help minimise aggression. All was good till yesterday. The female OB (Roseanne) whom I had put in the 125 gallon -(away from the boys), found her way through the bridge into the 220gallon with the males. Today was hectic. Big Red went crazy (of course) chasing all the DB's and Rodney around. This evening they all look tired. I may just get rid of the female OB (Roseanne). She has refused to mate with either of the two male OB's for two years now and her presence just seems to incense the males. Just to make things more complicated, my largest cichlid, Babba, (a yellow tail) has come down with a serious fungus, scraping himself madly against every object in the aquarium to the point that he has worn himself raw in places. I got some meds from Corbett's on Friday and I think he's improving, although I see a few other tankmates look like they have early stages of the same. Today I bit the bullet and ordered a UV sterilizer. Hopefully they'll pull through and this won't happen again.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with fungus! It is quite a frequent disease of new fish!!! It might be the new additions that brought it in! Hopefully everything will work out for you!
I concur with Les, would love to see your setup with the bride!
Great pictures of very beautiful fish by the way!!!
Thanks for the update! Sounds like the female had to go! It is just causing trouble! Do all the fish use the bridge? I imagine the smaller ones would use it more frequently than the big guys!
