Just cannot get this filter to run quiet. Pulled the trigger on an Eheim 2215. Will be arriving tomorrow.
I need the filtration up and running. While the 2215 is running, I can work on the 2213 at my own pace. Still a good filter, maybe needs some silicone lube on the impeller. If that fails, a whole new Impeller which is easy enough to order.
Should have checked this when I first purchased it back in 2021. Oh well, having a backup system is not going to hurt either.
The 2215 has the same tubing as the 2213, so I need not change anything out, though may have to shorten the return line a bit.

First plant order is on the way. I ordered from the Aquascape Room (I plan to try out Aquaflora next) and this is what the order contains; - Red Root Floaters (Phyllanthus fluitans), Tropica 1-2-Grow!
- Helanthium bolivianum 'Quadricostatus', Tropica 1-2-Grow!
- Blyxa japonica, Tropica 1-2-Grow!
I am attempting to buy as much 1-2-Grow! cups as I can to avoid any unwanted pests. Now I need to get off my butt and get some nursey pot plants and start getting them prepped for these plants (minus the Red Root Floaters). Excited. Yes. At the Swap Meet, I plan to be on the lookout for more plants and of course on the hunt for Red Cherry Shrimp. Things are starting to move now. Gary

Updates Updates Updates This has been an exhausting week. I am in the middle of the biggest project for work of my entire career and during all this chaos I am setting up an aquarium. Though it has been a nice deviation. - The Eheim 2213 has been replaced with the 2215. SOOOOOO much quieter. I had to dial back the flow a bit and tweak the skimmer all is good now.
- The plants arrived yesterday. The Blyxa resembled stewed plant soup and mush. I filed a claim for either a replacement or store credit
- Enough talking, more pictures...
Level and running. So glad I had those Stainless Steel Lily Pipes still. Oh, the 2215 has the same hose diameter as the 2213. It was a simple swap, trim (return line), install and turn on. The Eheim 2213 is going to my maintenance area to see why it is so loud. I plan to fix the issue and have a backup just for emergencies. Red Root Floaters. These were placed into the tank last night. Later on today, I plan a good clean of the glass and a small vac of the substrate and things will be good to go. I also will be planting my H.quadricostatus as well. Tomorrow, things will definitely look very different. The tank is starting to cycle, water is a getting a bit cloudy. May have to feed the invisible fish to help feed the beneficial bacteria. Hopefully by the time the Society Swap Meet arrives (Shrimpfever is also sponsoring) I will be ready for some Red Cherry Shrimp and a few weeks after that, Otocinclus (will admit, looking forward to getting the Otos). A small update I have planted my H. quadricostatus and it is really adapting to life underwater and showing signs of growth. As for the Blyxa that arrived stewed, I am trying to see if I can recover it, either way, I have store credit at the AquascapeRoom which is going towards my next purchase of invitro plants. Yes, more Blyxa. The goal is to have a good amount of plants for the initial start of Greenspace. Once the purpose of Project X is complete, I can get to work on my idea for this tank in my office. Theme, name, fish and plants have already been figured out. It will be a nice low tech tank. Pictures tomorrow when the lights are on. Photoperiod: 5am to 5pm (12 hours) - 2hrs ramp from 5am to 7am (when I start work most of the times)
- 8hrs of lights at 50% (7am to 3pm)
- 2hrs ramp down from 3pm to 5pm
Why did I choose these hours? During the week I am in my home office from 5am to 3pm-4pm daily. This way I can view the tank in hours that I will be present in the office. Gary

A picture of the start of the Grow-op (...for aquarium plants...)
I used the leftover substrate from my Office Space II project. Though I have ordered some API Root Tabs to help things along. As you can see the H.quadricostatus is starting to move along nicely. I had to replant one that floated up, last container was supposed to have one in the right hand bottom corner. Found it floating amongst the Green Root Floaters (they have yet to show signs of Red). Updates to my Aquarium Dissertation Project X is fully cycled now and ready for life. It just so happens that the big swap meet is this weekend. Which means Shrimp (and other goodies)! I plan to purchase at minimum of 20 but more is better. The goal: To get a huge colony ready for both Greenspace and the final Project X (which in the background have all the research done) iteration. I also plan to add more pots with Soil into the aquarium as my H.quadricostatus is starting to really move as well with my Red (which are now turning pink) Root Floaters. ..and now for the pictures.. This morning, 1 hour after lights on One small Invitro container is now this much! H.quadricostatus starting to really take off. I need extra pots now to reduce the amount per holder. This, out of all the plants for Greenspace, is the one I need the most of. Gary
