www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rArFldeEgAHere is a guy talking about the benefits of putting indian almond leaves into your tank. I am pretty keen on trying these out. I already filter through peat. Has anyone else tried these leaves in their tank? Sounds like they work miracles according to this swanky fella with the delicious accent!

Ya know, iv seen these on eBay a dozen times and never looked twice, but now that I see this I'm going to do some more research. If they even comes close to doing what this guy says they do they would be perfect for my 75 that's 90% South American. Thanks for the post.

no prob. I am definitely going to order some. I was very pleased with petsandponds.com when I ordered stuff before from them. Their prices are good and shipping is fast (and they are canadian). They have the leaves but are currently out of stock. We have done 'group buys' to get better prices on shipping with this board before, if that is something you would consider let me know.

I'd definitely be interested in going in on an order. The ones iv seen on eBay are all from Asia and I'll be honest iv never had much luck with products that have to be shipped that far, getting it from Canada is always a plus.

Pets and Ponds emailed me this morning and they have Indian Almond leaves in. I did more research on these things and you should be forewarned....they turn water Acidic! Do not use for fish that need alkaline conditions. They are a must have for Bettas, tetras and rams apparently...do I definitely want to try some. Let me know by this afternoon if you want me to order you some. I will be doing a big order and can get you free shipping. In other words, your leaves will come to me, you pay me and pick up...I will give you a copy of the receipt.

I should add that they are 3.99+tx for 10 5-7" leaves. you may find them cheaper online but some of the shipping costs are insane as they are coming from Thailand or India...and who knows how clean or reliable they are anyway. You only have to use 1 leaf to start with, test your PH and add more leaves as you want. Or if you want to use them as a substrate but in a bunch and let them breakdown. Shrimps also eat them and it gives them the ideal conditions to breed upon. Attachments:

Thank you for that crucial info. But for my guppies acidic water is a no go. So unfortunately I have to pass now.

Here are the leaves with a pear beside them so you can see how big they were. I got ten A+ leaves for 3.99. Next time I will order C+ leaves as I really dont' care if they are torn or have holes in them. Apparently on Ebay.ca Amy's Ketapang is a good place to buy them cheaper. Attachments:
