Good evening all!
Once again it is time for our monthly meeting. We will hold our meeting on Sunday, March 12 2023, with a 10:00 am start. With that in mind I would like to remind everyone that daylight savings time starts on Sunday, March 12 2023, at 2:00 am. The clocks will be turned ahead one hour. Our meeting as always will be held at Cramdon's Tap and Eatery, 2950 Dougall Ave. Refreshments and coffee is available for purchase at the beginning of the meeting, and food from 11:00 am when the kitchen opens.
I am very happy to announce that we are going to have a speaker for this month. Heather Burke is very well known for her contributions to the aquarium hobby, through her work in the pet store industry as well as breeding fish for research purposes.
I could not add anything to the great write up we have on our Facebook, so I will just plug it in here....
"She will be presenting her talk on Keeping and Breeding Small Egg-Laying Fish - A crash course on how to produce small egg laying fish that aren't cichlids or catfish.
This talk will help diversify your fish room and set you up to become a master fish breeder by showing just how simple it can be to raise fish such as danios, tetras, gobies, gouramis, badis and more! This talk will feature insights from working behind the scenes at pet stores, labs, and running an aquatics department with a focus on captive bred animals. Heather has gotten raising tiny fish almost down to a science and will offer tons of tricks and tips for new and seasoned fish breeders alike."
We will have our mini auction, raffle, and bowl show as usual. I would like to encourage everyone to please donate to our auction and raffle, we have received great support from our membership so far and I hope it will continue in the foreseeable future. I would like to let everyone know that this months bowl show is Bettas. Bring out your beautiful fish for all of us to enjoy!!!
Hope to see you all on Sunday!
