I am looking for a fixture capable of plant growth in a 30gal tank.
Either led, t5 etc.

you can use a normal t8 fixture and use a full spectrum 6,700K bulb by aquaeon I'm using it in my 38 gallon aquarium

I have a bulb in the stock fixture but its not bright enough and if im gonna buy another bulb again I might as well get a new fixture.

I wouldn't go with led for planted tanks. Iv never tried it in an aquarium but I did try to start my vegetables last year with them. It said it was supposed to produce like a 400w but the intensity was not even close to that. I'd go for the t5.

check out ebay. I was on there today, I saw some pretty reasonable prices on T5s. I was thinking of buying the kind people use to grow weed...uhhh I mean vegetables. Its the same thing really, just not sure how waterproof they are.

The aquarium ones are gonna be powder coated nicer and be waterproof for sure.

Your gonna be wasting alot of light with no reflector on the top behind your bulbs.
