Is this dangerous in any way? Is it helpful? I heard that it could be beneficial, but I just wanted to double check here Thanks

I add aquarium salt to all my tanks. One table spoon to every 5 gallon actually help fish. Its a natural healer, it fight parasites, helps with producing a thicker slime coat. And some fish species thrive better in slightly brackish water. Such as mollys. There health will be better with a bit of salt in there tanks.

just research what fish you have before you add it. While some fish enjoy it others do not. Cory's for example do not like it. They might seen ok but they would prefer no salt.

Yes I also use 1 table spoon of salt per 5 gallons of water in all my tanks.
