Im looking into drilling a bunch of my tanks and have considered simply buying the drill bit and having at it.. is their anyone in the area that does it? Or has suggestions on where one might go... ive read dozens of articles and watched you tube videos but would rather have someone do it if affordable enough.. thanks..

I know Sam at samspamperpets in Belle River has done it in the past. Just not sure if he still does it. Give him a call.

Sam still drills tanks. But most of the newer tanks are made completely from tempered glass, not just the bottoms are tempered like the older tanks. You can't drill tempered glass

Will have to check the tanks.. most of them are pretty old..I've heard there is a way to test the glass. Thanks.

Polarized sunglasses will work with the laptop as well. Just in case you don't have 3D glasses hanging around!

I used a laptop and I camera polarizing filter to check my 150g before I drilled it. They worked great.
As for the tools, I got a complete set of hole saws from Canadian Tire for about $25 and they worked great.
