Aponogeton ulvaceus is one of the most beautiful bulb species of the Aponogetons. The leaves are delicate light green and transparent with ruffled look. A single bulb can produce more than 40 leaves, 60 cm long (24 inches). This means that the plant is best as a solitary plant in large aquariums as background plant (the plant becomes up to 50 cm wide). It is relatively tolerant, and thrives in both soft and hard water, pH: 6.0 - 7.5, particularly if CO2 is added. It flowers often producing purple, yellow and white flower clusters. It grows very fast under ideal conditions. Needs both water column liquid fertilizers and substrate fertilizers. I am going to growing mine in pot and see how it does. It is already 18 inches tall. A very Beautiful plant. Attachments:
