Many mandarins are eating frozen now in the stores which is a nice change. Of course it would probably only be a supplement if you have many Copepods. And tips on how to get a population boom? I'm waiting for my tank to show signs of more before I get a dragonet. What I did is added 3 bottles of copepods on the 7th day the tank was up and running and after a few days noticed a bunch hanging out on the glass but only where there was a patch of green algae I had missed with my magfloat. So I thought maybe I'm not helping the population by scraping there r food source off the glass so I just dealt with the algae look for a month and let the front glass get covered in green algae/phytoplankton and now thatevery inch of glass is covered in copepods. I keep the front panel clean and let the back and sides become a grazing ground for the copepods. Also I find the mandarin doesn't really go to the very top of the waterline in search of copepods so the ones on the top part of the tank glass pretty much never gets predated upon. And lastly I also have many small holes and caverns in my liverock that the mandarin cannot fit into so they should be safe in there too. Gabor129 - I got the copepods from Carl's aquarium in toronto same place I got the griessingeri goby. I just happened to be in the area but he ships once the weather permits it.

Stumbled on this cool little guy at the pet store and had to stray from my list a little bit. The ruby red mandarin. A quick search on Google says they are a newly discovered species but I havnt been able to find out when. Anyways just thought it was a cool fish and wanted to share a couple pics. Sorry about the quality those were the best 2 I got before I released him.
