So here is a story about a yellow watchman goby I had a few years back. I owned a 12 gal nano cube with a yellow watchman and my 2 clowns and one day he simply vanished. I figured he was hiding and paid no mind to it. Weeks past and still no sign; I moved rocks and check the filters. I Moved the tank and stand in case he jumped out, but alas no sign. Anyways I figured he swam up to the big fish bowl in the sky and went on with life.
A year passes and it's moving day. Im completely emptying my nano and packing it away, When I empty the back of the tank under the bio balls there is a fleshy mass. "Gross" I think to myself as I grab the mystery goo, but once in my hand it flips and flips to the floor. And there on my wood floor sits Hanz Christian Anderson, my yellow watchman goby. To my shock he seemed in pretty good health for living in what I imagine was total darkness and seclusion and eating god knows what for about a year.
Unfortunately...
He dies almost immediately following his discovery when I put him in the back in the tank after the move. I imagine from shock. Incredible little guy though.
RIP Hanz.

I had almost the same thing happen. I had a biocube - lost the YWG after the second day. 3 or 4 months later, found him in the back chambers. Better news is that 3 years later he is still in my display (took an hour or two to get him outta the cube though)

Wow, I can't believe it lived that long like that.
