This is a battle that I lose over and over again to the extent that instead of having it in 1 tank it is now in 3.

I just put some duckweed in my tank....and now after reading this I regret putting it in Lots of people like it. You just need to keep it under control, something that I have not done.

I had some just pop up not sure from where, I liked it at first but its a chore to thin out all the time and always taking up the most light.

If anyone is throwing away some duckweed soon please let me know, I would love to get some growing in a container for my cichlids. Do you guys think it would grow without being in a actual aquarium (like a container near a window)? Cheers.

Yup it will grow! I keep it for my dart frog tads, and now I got it in all my tanks!
