So Im looking to make life easier and take away the pain of doing water changes in my 3 tanks. I have a 75, 30 bowfront and a 30 long. They are all in the same room and I have access to crawl space through the floor to my half basement not much on other side of the house.
My thoughts are having a treated water storage tank in the basement, with a small pump that I can either have going to a manifold of sorts that I would be able to either put on a timer or have small shutoffs I can dial down the flow with.
For the waste water not sure if I could get a smaller rubber hose (similar to water change style or the same) and use that to drain into a drain I could put underneath in my crawl space.
I cant really get set on a plan of action so hoping to get some input from everyone.
Thanks in advance
Andrew

This is interesting and I hope some others have input, definitely interested to see if it works out. I have seen some systems out there and they can get complicated.

I just finished my water change system on 14 of my tanks... and its important to remember that even the best automated systems will need the occational vacuuming of the mulm and what not that you have at the bottom of the tank... that said.. its wonderful to know that freshwater is enterig your tanks daily.. weekly or whatever method you go for..
It is a fair amount if work and it will need alot of finetuning...
Most methods either use a central water exchange system that filters and / or exchanges water from all the tanks x times per week or drips in water continuously or intermittently.
One of the most painful parts of automatic water changes is getting water out of the existing tank.. either drilling the tank, syphoning, or pumping the water to waste.. getting water back in is the easier part... although it can be complicated too depending on the setup.. you tube has some good videos.. but I've found knowwhere that covers every aspect.. since each fishroom will be different.. as will your goals... it took me several months of planning and alot of redesigning and tonnes of fiddling... but it is a nice feeling when done...
