Hello everybody,I guess I never thought of keeping fish as a hobby. A chore, as pets, as art , as something to watch that's better than tv, but if I think of it as a whole I suppose it is a hobby.
I was first hooked when I met a friend of my brother's who had three 75 gallon tanks with all kinds of fish. They mesmorized me and I wanted to take them home. That Christmas my brother gave me at 55 gallon and the basics. So excited I dove right in and discovered he'd giving me a big chore for a present haha. But once it was setup I'd stare for hours at it and slowly the chore became "hmm can't wait to next water change to change the scenery or add that." I loved it. But after a rough few years and many house moves all that was left was my two pLecoS (one called the pleconator) and a pike cyclid. The tank and fish were in neglect so I finally made some major improvements and now they are all happy. I also started another tank for random species of small fish that I find or injury by fishing. Don't know how it will go but it will be interesting.

Welcome to the forum @tanktrancer, by fish you "find" do you mean local species?
