Well It bound to happen to me!
As many of you know that I was storing my wine on top of my fish rack, in a bottle rack, for years now! I always put out just enough, so I do not have to go to the crawlspace for new bottles when I felt like having a drink! Now, you have to know that I have been making my own wine for years, and never, ever had a problem with a batch! Well that all changed today!!!
I went to take Matt to his friends house since he is going to go to their cottage for two weeks. I was gone for about an hour, getting essential info about the trip and making sure that he did not mis anything that he needed to take! Well of course he did so home we went! Well when I got home, Luke ( my youngest child) is in panic mode and my wife just can not calm him down! I was thinking he is acting up since his brother is going away for two weeks! Well I was very wrong! My wife presides to tell me that one of the wine bottles blew a cork and my 55 g tank now has a good half a litter wine in it! I thought happy birthday to you!!! ( Well a bit early, but apparently the corks are popping!) So I did a 60% water change, and tomorrow will do another 50%, and the day after that 25% and so on so forth! I love the unexpected in this hobby!
So bonehead mistake, but DO NOT store any fluid on TOP of your fish tank rack!!!!
Wow I actually feel a bit better for telling the story! Thanks for reading, and let the comments begin!!! LOL

I'm more so curious if the fish will be affected by the alcohol haha - if any of your fish start swimming sideways make sure to break out the camera!! On a serious note, I hope all goes well and there is no harm done. All the best and good luck

LOL, this could only happen to you. I literally burst out laughing when I read your post. It's really a shame because you make some of the best home made wine I have ever tasted....That's why your fish are always so happy looking.....
