So i'm going to add a mangrove forest to my current reef in a separate tank. I will be building this tank out of 3/4 inch acrylic, using a UV bonding to ensure strength and water proofing
I want a shallow tank roughly 4' long by 2' wide and roughly 1' tall. I want to divide the tank like a 3 stage refuge. 8" section for water "in" from display tank, the center section 30" to hold (2-4" gravel, sand, limestone or mud) and planted mangroves, Stage 3,(10") a sponge filter before pumping water down to refuge. the sponge is just to keep out any debris. I'll hang 1 or 2 florescent bulbs above this for plant lighting.
Is there any critical errors with this plan that anyone can see or has input on? I'm looking for suggestions because i'm not finding a lot of mangrove tanks for in the home.
Also, any critter suggestions to live in the root system of a shallow tank like this are welcome.
i was thinking this would be perfect for my mandarin.
