I am trying to grow plants but my pleco keeps knocking them out . I think if the roots grab they will be ok . does anyone know the best way to protect the plants ?

they actually make plant anchors, they are little pieces of metal that wrap around the bottom of the plant. They are pretty cheap and I think petsmart and corbets might have them

If your doing plants like anubius and java fern you can tie them to rocks or driftwood to keep them in place. Probably your best bet if its a large pleco.

I've put smaller river rock around some of mine from time to time until the root into my sand a bit.

Pleco's and planted tanks don't usually mix well. But if you really want to keep him re-enforcing around the plants with big stones maybe your only answer or like rob said try some plants you can tie off to driftwood. just my opinion

Thanks for the suggestions . I've just put rocks around the plants since getting rid of my pleco isn't an option .
