Hi Any one have ideas, suggestion and cost on repairing a tank that has a pretty bad crack and chip out of top side corner of tank. It is approx 13.5" x 18". I thought about replacing the whole side piece and re sealing it. Any idea of what the cost is and is there a specific type glass.\ Appreciate the help

I always keep a few spare cracked tanks so I can salvage glass from!

It's likely too late but for future reference have you thought of silicone. If you can get the top frame off clean both glass surfaces completely, I always do a final wipe with acetone [it good for removing wet silicone too]. It removes moisture and oil left by your fingers, lightly silicone one side of the seam, add the broken piece and tape in place. In about 2 hours gently remove the tape and carefully razor blade off the squeeze out while it's not fully cured. As for the chip, stretch some tape tight across it, fill it with silicone then tape something flat and hard like a ruler over the first tape to flatten the bulge, then scrape the squeeze out off away from glass surfaces. I recommend vinyl tape for ease of removal.
