This problem I just can't seem to beat... I have this white slim that covers my air hose line and any suction cups on the left side of my 55g tank. All my Lvls are on par and don't over feed. water change often but still shows up. I have up graded my lines to make sure it wasn't bad lines. I have looked on line and this is what it looks like almost to a tea. www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3eBumVVoYI Can any one help with this problem ?

It might be calcium build up - depending on the mineral content in your water. My girlfriend lived up in Waterloo for 4 years and they have a very high calcium content in their water (you can taste it a little) and her coffee pot used to get that white build up like that as well (it was plastic so maybe it has something to do with that?). Does it scrap off if you take the hose out and try to clean it? I ask because can see it flaking in the picture you provided. Also have you lost any fish recently?

Thanx for the reply. I just put the air line in. I saw the white slim build after 2 days of being in. That would be one hell of a calcium build up. But that was my first thought . I have not lost any fish due to this. Also another note, I do run a green Machine.

I think that might just be a protein build up- you can get that film on the surface of your tank too. Manual cleaning or increase water flow if that what it is
