i live no more than a 5 minute walk from sandpoint beach now i know the water itself isnt good but i was wondering if taking the sand from the dry land and boiling it if that would make it safe to use in an aquarium much like driftwood???
so beach sand boiled yeah or nay???

I have used sand from Cedar Beach in the past. I also collect beach rocks and beach wood as well. I have found boiling it all has worked for me.

i have and am currently using all and anything i find wild. rocks, driftwood and sand. the sand i find rinsing it well works best as well as he large peices of driftwood. BUT ONLY DURING THE WINTER MONTHS as in the summer they may contain bugs and such but everything is dead in the winter. everything in my tank is all 100% natural and was FREE i love putting new rocks an driftwood in the tank. though i usually have to tie the wood to a rock to keep it down until it has become waterlogged.
