Hello Everyone, Thank you to the approximately 35 people who came out to our January meeting. Unfortunately, Kirk aka the Toronto Plant Man was unable to give his presentation due to shredding a tire on the 401- we are glad you were safe, that is what is most important. However, he will be coming in February. We used our plan B option and showed a video from the Wild Aquariums series. Our bowl show this month consisted of fishy rafts and photography. The photos were beautiful but the two pieces of fishy crafts entered- one by DJ and the other by Satch tied for 1st place as they were both incredible. DJs hand painting of a Betta was outstanding and Satches arrangement of real dried out fish was something I have never seen before and it was over 30 years old! Thank you to all members who renewed their memberships. A special thank you to all those who donated to our raffle and auction and Aqua Animania for your donation. Memberships can still be renewed and bought to those who have not- you can PM me ahead of time so I can have it ready at the next meeting. If you are interested in a WAS shirt please let me know. See you all next month! -Ryan President of the Windsor Aquarium Society www.windsoraquariumsociety.zohosites.com

Nice seeing everyone today. I just talked to Kirk and he has agreed to come down to talk at our February meeting. I told him that we are all glad that he is safe after his terrible mishap on the way down here. I would also like to thank all who participated in the bowl show today. It was one of the best yet with some outstanding entrees. We have some very talented members.

I'm sorry to everyone in the Windsor & Essex Country Aquarium Society for not being able to come at our planned date; I unfortunately shredded a tire on the 401 near Guelph on my way to Windsor. I was fortunately able to merge lanes and safely pull over, however the experience was still a bit scary as I was driving beside two transport trucks. I sincerely thank Les and everyone at the club for understanding the situation and giving me the opportunity to reschedule a new date. I will be coming a day in advance this time so that there is no chance for anything to get in the way of giving the presentation. Again, I seriously thank everyone for understanding and a huge thank you to Les for genuinely caring about my safety and giving me a chance to still present at a later date. I do still feel bad about what happened so as a thank you to everyone at the club I will be giving a free fertilizer package: one 500ml Micro and one 500ml Macro fertilizer, as well as some low tech and high tech plants. In order to participate in this "giveaway" I just need members to e-mail me or PM me here on the forum with simply your full name and the words "low tech" or "high tech" so I can give the plants away to the right people accordingly. I will put everyones name in a hat and draw from it at the presentation in February so the odd's are all equal, only one entry per person I seriously cannot wait to make it out to the Feb meeting to meet everyone and hopefully deliver a great presentation. Thanks again, Kirk TorontoPlantMan kirk-gibson21 AT hotmail.com hotmail.com Attachments:

Hi Kirk Of course we were concerned about your safety. No presentation is worth anyone's safety. And you are being more than generous with your give away to us. So I am personally saying thank you for being so generous and I am really looking forward to you presentation February. I have no doubt it will be a great one.

Kirk, Glad to hear you were safe despite the blowout. My wife does a round trip between London and Kitchener every work day, I am always worried about this type of event on the highway, so we have very good mechanic friends who keep our cars (tires, engines, brakes, etc ) in top condition
