I have been reading about other fish that can be Brackish, like guppies, platies and swordtails. The info I have is conflicting about these fish, I found several sites that say they can be Brackish and a couple that say these fish can not tolerate brackish water. I have Mollies in Brackish water, but has anyone ever put these other types of fish in Brackish or have any Info. on them Brackish or strictly freshwater. I really wanted to add Swordtails to the Brackish tank. Thanks

Swordtails and platys do not naturally come from brackish water. They come from small freshwater rivers and streams. Some guppies populations have been found in brackish water and other populations have been found in strictly fresh water. I use a tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons with all my guppies and endlers. But that is the extent of it. But by slowly acclimatizing you can get guppies in brackish water. Wild type guppies I would think would work best for this more than the domestic types. They are a lot hardier. But that is my personal opinion.
