I bought this plant (http://tropica.com/en/plants/plantdetails/Alternantherareineckii'Pink'(023)/4436 ) a month or two ago and absolutely love it. It was growing beautifully, but now something is viewing it as a buffet! It is quickly becoming destroyed. I have been on the lookout for snails but I have only seen trumpet snails on the plant. What I have in the tank is a pair of Agissizi's, 3 ADF's, 2 Amano's, 3 endlers and a half dozen spotted dwarf Rasboras. I'm curious as to who my trouble maker could be. Could the Trumpets be eating the plant?

None of the fish or snails you listed would be the culprit here. Looks like the damage of ramshorn snail. I had one large elusive ramshorn in a tank for months before I finally found him. He hid away during the day and caused trouble at night.

I may end up taking one or two of Darrens. All I am finding now though are teeny tiny baby snails, too small to remove from the plant...being crunched is their fate =(

Why don't you do a salt dip? They would be gone in no time!

I would have to salt dip every plant in my tank and I am not prepared to tear my tank apart. When I swapped the 10 gallon out to the 20, I sat down and spent over an hour taking snails out one by one (including eggs) to guarantee there was nothing. That's why I was confused by this. Since then I have stolen a couple things from Darrens tank and I assume there must have been a rogue snail on a piece or two. All of the big snails are gone, it's these friggin babies that are the problem...I'll throw an assassin in and kill off whatever I find as I go now. This is a long explanation, but had you been sitting in front of me Gabe, this is what I would have said. lol
