Just wanted to do little intro to the forums.
I got back into aquariums after many years, since I was a little kid.
It started when a year ago October for my birthday I was given a 30gal bowfront and I decided to just go with community type fish because of the tank size and knowledge level at the time.
About 5 months after I of course as everyone involved in the hobby wanted to go with a bigger tank. The tanks never big enough lol
So I found a good deal on kijiji for a 55 gal with everything and came with 2 large red devils about 7 inchs (female) to 8 inches (male) they were also a breeding pair. Less then a week later they spawned on some lava rock I had in the tank. I kept them for a bit but I knew not being able to have any other fish with then and the fact that I could barly clean the tank without being charged at the whole time, that I wasnt going to keep them forever.
So I found someone for the pair and most of the babies which were about half inch to inch or more. I wasnt able to catch them all and still have some currently with no problems yet, but I need to find them a home.
Soon as I got rid of the red devils I knew I wanted to go with fish that had some color and were more exciting to watch and have. So I got a couple assorted cichlids at petsmart about inch and half in size or so. Not long after that I found some on kijiji and the price was right so I picked them up and I was at total of about 20 or so with the red devil fry.
After some research I found what I had purchased while fine atm wasnt going to work out for the long run, once they wernt juvies anymore. So now I have been in the process of trying to find someone who would enjoy them and would make a good addition to there tanks.
I plan on going with a lake malawi setup with peacock and haps.
Also bit over a month ago I got a free 75 gal aqueon tank with light and glasstop hoods, so moved everything over from my 55 to it. Cause like I said before always want a bigger tank! haha
So went on for bit but theres my intro. Any questions or which ever let me know.
