Hi Everyone, Just wanted to share a DIY hood I managed to complete. I'm no "DIY guy" so as you can imagine this is very easy and cheap. All you need is: Outside corner molding (Home depot) Plexiglass or glass (Probably home depot or lowes) something to cut both maybe some glue and spray paint (optional) Handle for lid (optional) Basically the plastic molding sits on the rim of the tank, slide one piece of glass in the slit and the other sits on top. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I don't take credit, I got it off youtube.. just showing everyone that its nice and easy to do.

I have plexiglass on my saltwater tank, and it warped badly. I was wondering if the mouldings will stop this from happening.

I have plexiglass on my saltwater tank, and it warped badly. I was wondering if the mouldings will stop this from happening. Hmm I'm not really sure, it is very thick and at least the piece that is stuck in the moulding will definitely not be able to warp. Only time will tell, I'll let you know if it does!

Yes I use quarter inch thick plexi glass and mine warps to. Have to flip it over once a week to keep it flat. Yes let us know if the moulding stops the warp.

Ditto, I used plexi glass for a 5 gallon. Spent a lot of time cutting out areas for tubes, filter, thermo, etc and after a week it warped so much that it wouldnt even span the tank and it would fall in.
