Well it seems like my celestial peril danios like the bucket pond I set up for them. I just spotted about 8-10 fry of all different ages. In the same bucket I have some yellow albino guppies, and just got 2 very small fry from them as well. Also my original White Cloud Mountain minnows are doing great with a few dozen of fry on their own. Wow thats grt. Not sure if you have explained this already but I'm interested in learning about ponds. Can you tell us more details about the size, in ground or out, what's in it, circulation, filtration, water changes etc. Appreciate it. Thx

No filtration, just a lot of floating plants. No circulation at all. I do a water change when the water is so green I barely see the fish.... Every week I have to clean out a bunch of plants so the fish have room to swim. I use Java moss, and star grass for the fish to lay eggs in, as well as water lettuce for the "mop" breeders.

We made a thread with container ponds, I'll see if I can find the address for it.

Here is the best picture I can get of the fry. CPD and the yellow albino guppy fry in the same picture.... There is a bit of a difference in the size of the fry....

Just had Betta mahachiensis spawn on August 4th and can see little wigglers in the nest today. Added photos in the post on them in the Bettas and Gouramis section.

My ram pair have raised their fry to the free swimming stage, as of today. I have a platy spawn that I'm getting ready to for. Growing out 10 Nothobranchius.rachovii Beira 98 fry. Hope I can get my blue whale/shark catfish to breed in the future. There's never been a documented captive breeding of this species in the home aquaria. Got 2 females and a male, as far as I know.

It seems I have a pair of paradise gourami that spawned under a leaf.... eggs should hopefully hatch by tomorrow. I've already removed the female and the male is busy keeping the eggs suspended with bubbles.

Nice going! I never heard of paradise fish being captive bred! From what I read, once the male starts breeding, cant get him to stop. They are a lot like Bettas so I dont think they are hard to breed. The fry are free swimming now... somewhere between 50-100 dots darting around. Hopefully I can get some to survive as they are in a tank with other fish but partitioned by a mesh screen. If they are smart enough to stay on their side, they'll do ok...

I got about 10 Zebra Obliquiden (Astatotilapia Latifasciata) fry. They are African Cichlids from Lake Victoria. They aren't rare in the hobby but they are nearing extinction in the wild. This female was holding for a while and looking real skinny so I decided to net her out. After spending about 20 minutes chasing her, finally caught her using 2 nets and some luck. She immediately spit them out while in the net. There is another 1 or 2 females holding but not going to interfere until they get too skinny as well. I have a group of 6 adults and they are still rather young.
