Hello everyone!
I would like to thank everyone for attending today's meeting even thought it was Valentines Day!
A special thanks to Ron and Annette Bishop who came all the way from London. As well as to all the people from Chatham; Ken, Lisa and Kathleen Boorman, Karen and Julie Schinkel!!! Thank you very much for coming out to the meeting.
Thank you Ron for letting our membership know a bit more about the upcoming CAOAC convention. Also thank you Ken for the breeding history and importance of the preservation of the Running River Rainbow Fish.
Our members overwhelmingly voted to support this cause and we will be sending $100.00 to the people who are working on this project. We discussed our upcoming Toronto bus trip, which once again Ron Bishop gave us more information on. We are looking at May 14 2016 as the date for the trip.
There were 37 people in attendance for Dr. Kessels presentation, which was very informative about shark biology, as well as eye opening, about the fishing industry. We wish Dr. Kessel good luck in his further work with sharks, and education of people of the importance of the top predator in the ocean.
We had our auction, raffle and bowl show as we do at all meetings, and renewal of memberships. Congratulations to all the winners in the bowl show as well as for Les for outbidding me for the beautiful drawing by Jeff Aqua, congrats Les!
Thank you everyone!

Well guys what a meeting today, I know I had a good time. We had a amazing presentation by Dr. Kessels, and I certainly learned a lot today about sharks. As well as a great turn out and some good laughs and fun today. I personally enjoy today's auction and would like to thank Jason and Ron for helping auctioneer for today's auction. I am really pumped up about our upcoming bus trip and it will be a great experience for all participating club members as we will see many great stores and share some good times with friends. This will be a great time so if you can make you certainly should. Thanks everybody

I thought the meeting went very well , a lot packed into our two hours ( which we stretched ) . Dr. Kessel gave a very informative talk on the pressure sharks face due to over fishing . It's incredible to believe that one species of fish can be hunted to the point were something has to be done . And due to Shark Finned Soup. It's also encouraging that they also seem to be making some progress in this area. It's not easy changing centuries of culture. I would like to thank club member Mitch for suggesting Dr. Kessel. 37 people turned out on Valentines Day , a very good turnout indeed. Was great seeing so many new members checking out what we have to offer . Some even joined our club on the spot . Thanks also to our many out of town guests both from Chatham as well as London . I really appreciate all the members who braved the cold to enter fish into our bowl show , no small task in this weather. Also thank you to Aqua Animania for their donation to our raffle .
I would be very interested to here ours express their opinion of what they thought of the meeting , See you all next month .

Meetings are usually 2hrs 10am-12pm. The raffle table has anything from tanks ti food, tank decor, filters, air pumps, heaters, plants, fish ect. The tickets are 3 for $5. You can bring as many people as you like, the first two meetings are free and after that a year membership is $20. With the membership most local fish stores offer a dicount which is usually around %15

Are there door prizes ? And $20 a year is so cheap so great price, but discount at the stores is incredible. Some of the stores I go to I did not think would give deal on anything. lol

The meetings are from 10 am to 12 pm every second Sunday of the month. Of course you can bring a friend, the more the merrier. You can try it out for two meetings and if you like to join after that it is $20.00 membership for the year.
For raffle we had in the past from a 125 gal setup to plastic plants everything. Usually some food, artwork, fish food, etc. the tickets I think are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00, I am not 100% sure! I always get the 3 tickets....

Thank you a 2 hour meeting sounds great out in time for lunch. lol I was thinking of bringing a friend since it my first time and I can be shy. A 125 gallon tank was raffled that is amazing. Where do all the raffle items come from ? And same with the auction where do those items come from ? Are these new and used items ? Because if you need donations or if you accept donations I might be able to help a little. Good price on the raffle tickets.

Wow I type slow! There are no door prizes as of yet! I just thought there might be. Maybe every tenth person or something that walks through the door can get a small door prize.

Most of the stuff on the raffle tables are donations from members, the stuff in the auctions too. The club also has a breeder award program or BAP and a HAP for propagating plants

Some of the bigger items are purchased by the club, and raffled off at Christmas time! However most of the items are donated by the members, and some are donated by local fish stores!
