So I seen some fire red shrimp at the PetValu in LaSalle and they were a nice solid dark red. Would they cross breed with my cherry shrimp ? If they do cross breed will it improve the color of my cherry shrimp or make it worse ? And are fire red shrimp hardy or need special conditions ?

Yes, fire reds will cross with cherry shrimp! Over time with culling they would improve the colour of your regular cherrys. However I would just get fire reds, and sell the regular cherrys!

Some shrimp crosses just make the babies revert back to the normal brown coloured shrimp. No idea on the cross you are suggesting though.
