Does anyone have any experience using Akadama Soil . I bought some on the bus trip and used it to set up a small nano tank that I plan on using for shrimp in the near future ... I find it very messy and impossible to rinse .... Just hoping the tank doesn't stay cloudy forever ....

I've never used that stuff but I have recently set up a tank with fluval stratum, another substrate directed towards shrimp.
It is super mess, especially in the beginning... things seem to have gotten better as long as he doesn't dig around too much.
Not much help but thats all I got lol

Tank is almost crystal clear this morning .. Now to not disturb it to much when I add plants .

Was thinking of putting in Bloody Mary Shrimp but knowing me that could change by the time it's ready for shrimp . Definitely intending on keeping it a shrimp tank . |

With the pH buffering capabilitie of the akadama you could remineralis Ro water and keep some caridina species aswell  |

That is definitely something to think about but want to take it one step at a time . Tank is so clear right now and looks good .
Just hoping I don't change directions with it in the middle of Sunday's auction . I need to exercise restraint .
