Hey everyone
I'm going to use pool filter sand in my new 75...I heard there is a prep process before adding it to tank?
Anyone know about this or what I need to do before I put it in my tank?
Thank you

It will be the same as what you should do with any new substrate. Always, always rinse your new substrates to remove any manufacturing dust before putting it in your tanks.
With pool filter sand, there's usually a lot less dust involved than, say, play sand.
The best method out there is to grab a bucket, head outside, fill it one third of the way with sand, take a garden hose, shove it down into the sand, and stir it all up. Everything light enough is going to rise and overflow and you're gonna swish around until your water flows clear.
Empty the water as much as you can and transfer your batch into another bucket for safe keeping while you prep the next batch. You could rinse it all at once, but you'll be making it a lot harder on yourself.

Thank you Rinse with lots of water as Xander.. per bucket it took about 5-10 minutes of rinsing to get all the light particles out of the water. It's well worth your time to do so or you can learn for yourself lol..

Yes, rinse in small batches is best and pool filter sand has way, way less floating impurities than play sand or agricultural sand. Let's see a photo of your 75 after the sand has been in there for a few days

You can rinse the hell out of it and it may still be cloudy once you put it in the tank. Run a filter on it to clear it up quicker or let it settle for a day or two.
