I have a couple of fish with white stringy, so i used API General Cure. Followed the instructions and all went well. My question is about the carbon. Instructions said to remove the carbon while medicating and replace carbon and do a water change when done medicating. I do not normally use carbon, but should I be putting carbon in the filters now that I am done medicating to help remove any traces of Meds that could still be in the tank? I plan on doing Water changes every other day for the next week or so to help get the Meds out of the tank to. Just not sure if I should get some carbon also ?

I am in the same boat as you Keith! I do not use carbon, and API general cure is my go to parasite med. After I am done with the treatment I use a small corner filter which I have carbon in to remove the remaining meds. Usually I run it for 48 hours after.

That's the best way. Carbon helps remove the meds once you are done with them. Carbon is also really only activated for approximately 24 hrs or so depending on how much 'stuff' is getting cleaned out of the tank. After that most tanks that use carbon are really only using the carbon as a place to grow bacteria.
