Well I did a bit more work today! First I cut the light grading to size for the bottom of the tank! This will help distribute the weight of the rocks I am planning to put in there! I used a pair of bonsai shears to cut them! I would suggest not doing it in the living room thought! Than I levelled the stand, using some cedar door levelling wedges! It turned out better than I thought!

Than I placed the three rocks, well moved around them for 20 min before the boss was okay with the placement! Than I started filling in the sand around the rocks! I used National Geographic 1mm white sand! When the substrate was done, I started filling the tank! Used a tall container placed on top of a plate! The container was a bit tilted to one side so the water runs onto the plate! Once the water level passed the top of the container it started floating! And the filled tank!

I can not get a better picture for now, well maybe when the lights are off on the other tanks I'll try again!

The foam is a lot stronger than I expected to be! It is holding up the full tank without ever sinking at all! My first time using the foam under a tank, so I was not sure what to expect!

Good job on the hard scape, I like the dark colour bolders with the white sand.

Well done gabor129 with your wife's 75 gal. goldfish tank! The stand and tank with a built in doghouse looks great! Don't mind me asking but where did you get the rocks? I really enjoyed following your DIY!

I got the rocks from Dupuis Landscaping Supply. They were $0.20 a pound! I do test the rocks with sulphuric acid time check for minerals 'washing' out! Anything alkaline will foam, and anything acidic will smoke! Very basic test, it worked for me until now. Just used up the last of the acid on these rocks, but 100 ml lasted for about 3 years! Just need to remember to mark the bottle and top up evaporation with destined water!

Well I am really not happy with WallMart right at this moment! Not only they are not carrying the Krylon brand spray paint any longer, but then this happens... Clearly a black can of paint, right? Well maybe not so much! Someone f...ed up somewhere! Lucky for me, I did the first few coats with a can of paint I had lying around! This was just so no light goes through! People, always test your can of paint on a piece of scrap before you start applying to your project!!! Don't know why, but that colour looks cool. You should post a pic from the other side with fish in it!
