I simply scoop out as much as possible during a water change and then keep at it everyday until gone . I found that if I really go after it everyday , even a little at a time when it becomes sparse in the end it will be gone . The key is to really stay at it because if you leave a little it will be back with a vengeance . Good Luck

I do the same net it out every time I see a piece of it. Didn't take long a month or so of staying on top of it, now my tank is free of it

I actually like the look of it, however angelfish and goldfish love eating the stuff!
