I like to buy different types of food sometimes just to see what my fish will like. So I'll start off with my list of food on my blacklist..... I think it will be nice to see what food others have come across that their fish won't eat. Add to the discussion and maybe this will be a good reference for beginners. By all means, just because one food doesn't work for your fish doesn't mean it won't for others so this is more of a general discussion rather than an all out bash of certain products. Nutrafin A6722 Max Small Micro Granules: Has a picture of a Ram Cichlid... Rams spit it out the second it goes in their mouth. Other fish don't care for it either. They won't eat it even if they are starving, it just gets blown around and breaks apart into the substrate and pollutes. Tubifex Worms Fish Treats: Got this from Walmart... the fish attack it at first and then it ends up floating around and getting stuck along the rim of the tank then nobody touches it. Little bits fly around the tank, the fish chew then spit it out. Makes a mess and that's about it. Last and not least Tetra TetraMin Tropical Crisps Food These are supposed to have different layers to it and I guess in the middle of the crisp is a treat or something. I am certain this crap caused bloat in 1 of my Angelfish and several of my Buenos Aires Tetras. Wouldn't buy this stuff again if it were free.

We feed Northfin pellets almost exclusively at Pet Wise, they come in micro size (.5mm. ) right up to 6 mm. The fish like them so well that the pellets don't even reach the bottom of the tank. The fish gobble them up. No waste. No mess.

I've heard good things about Northfin as well, I'll be switching after the containers of new life spectrum are finished. I feel that my Cichlids eat NLS pellets because they are hungry and not because they like them.

Your fish will love these. And the price is very reasonable for the quality.

If there are also bottom feeding fish in the tank, like corys, plecos and loaches, I suggest dropping in sinking pellets an hour or two after the lights go out. They like the Kelp wafers as well
