Very strange, what water conditioner (chlorine remover) are you using ? This happen to me about a year ago and I believe it was abnormally high chemical levels in the town water supply that cause it. Has someone sprayed air freshener, cleaning product or some kind of bug spray near the tank? Anti bacterial soap or some other product get into the tank from your hands? I think I would do another water change not vacuum the gravel just change out about 50% of the water to eliminate possible contaminates. Keep us posted on progress.

I use seachem prime and stability with every water change lost another one this morning. What's really strange to me is that it's the hearty fish that are dying zebras, guppys, tetras. I have 2 pipe fish i heard were very sensitive to water conditions seem to be doing well

That is very strange indeed! Prime is the most widely used water conditioner, and it works great. Perhaps the temperature of the water you did the water change with shocked the fish? However like Keith said lately the city water supply is wacky with the chemicals. I also had 8.0 ph right out of the tap as well. Not sure what can you do to prevent fish die offs, just offering a few other things that can cause it. Good luck and keep us posted!
By the way how long you had the pipe fish and what are you feeding them?

I've had the pipe fish for about 6-8 months now I couldn't get them to eat anything when I first got them I bought arcti pods (copepods) and they would eat that once in a while still not very interested in that, then one day I accidentally left a frozen cube of brine shrimp on top of the tank and it melted I put that in and they went nuts been eating it ever since.......update no causalitys since overnight last night

Lost a hillstreem loach today and a rumy nose all parameters still good did another 30 % water change I thought everything was back on track because I went three days without a loss...tge only thing that I've changed in the tank was about 2 months ago I added a couple live plants never had live plants before they seem to be doing well could this be the cause?

Plants are most likely not the cause! I’m starting to think some sort of parasite might be the cause.

Sorry to hear, sometimes these health issues in a fish tank are so hard to figure out

The tank was good for a week or so no deaths then yesterday it started again lost 5 fish over the last 24 hours are parameters same as they always been so tonight I decided to take apart the filters and clean them out good. Does anyone know what this is? And could this be the cause?

Not sure what that stuff is from the pic. Is it alive, moving? or is it more like crusty calcium deposits? Small snails and plant matter?

Looks like some type of moss. I know I get crazy java moss growing out of my filters but can't seem to keep it growing in the tank.

It looks like some type of moss. Is it green? Can not tell on the picture. Not likely the cause of your problems.

Have you introduced anything new into the tank recently? Fish or decor? Have you measured your pH of your tank vs pH of water source going in? Major pH changes can cause all sorts of problems.. Have you done a filter cleaning recently? All equipment working proper? Damaged in tank equipment can send of random electrical discharges. Pockets of anaerobic gases can release up from decor or gravel. Can you smell sulphur in or near the tank?
That Alien Life form in your Filter looks like a Moss, which would definitely NOT be the cause of your maladies.
There is always a cause, it's just a matter of finding it.
