I need to mist every 12 hrs. Which is ok, I also do an exposure period for 15 minutes a day. Along with the slit in the back, I am hoping the Buce will rebound and start to adapt to their new environment. They are going from submerged to emersed. I guess they'll need time which they will have.
I am going to smash up my other Seriyu Stone as it was suggested that i need more medium and small pieces and some rubble. Good suggestion, and the HC can grow around it. I'll be placing the rocks more so around the piece of wood in the tank.
My order from Angelfins is going to arrive today. Thank you UPS, much better than the other service which is just well, bad.
1 Day Xpress with Canada Purge is actually 2 days, obviously, they don't know how to count either.

SHAZAM! My order came in yesterday and I picked it up. The Guy at the counter was looking at me suspicious as the small box stated, "Live Plants: Handle With Care", must have thought I was a Pothead ordering live plants to grow for myself. What the heck has happened to this Country? I planted the Staurogyne repens last night; WOW, it's super humid in there. This was after a misting. I should have waited but I wanted to show everyone how the tank looks after a good misting. Humidity goes up to 80% and temp between 75°F - 78°F so it's a good area to be. Tubs of HC sitting in there getting much needed light after their journey. I've noticed a few Buce that are having a hard time adapting, but I expected some losses no matter what I do to prevent it. 20% of what is attached is not fairing well, the other 80% is going good. I am going to concentrate on the 80%. I smashed up the larger Seiryu Stone this afternoon (after a few rolling thunderstorms played havoc with the Hydro). The rockwork is now very impressive and I have some pieces left. Looks a lot more natural. I did change how the tank will look finally (as I knew I would)... Purchased another bag of Flourite Black Sand from Aqua Mania yesterday. It's hard asking for 2 cups full. Besides, this will give me a head start on another Nano Project down the road. The center portion (between the Wood and large rock) actually sunk in, giving it a bowl effect, I've cured this. Now planting the HC... It was more difficult than I thought. First, while the Tubs are awesome, there is NO root system what so ever. I am not sure if I am planting the HC upside down or not. In fact, I simply pressed it into the substrate. There is no apparent up or down. Though I did manage to keep the Gel side into the substrate for the most part. It's not in deep, just lightly pressed in and in some cases, just sitting on top. If it doesn't take off, I will hunt down the rooted version which in my opinion is easier to plant. I also realized that I don't have nimble thin fingers. When it comes to working alongside the wood, I'll need long tweezers and scissors so I don't bump it each time I do something. Coordinated, I am not. And here is what it looks like now... (drum roll please...) I am so looking forward to watching this progress. From here on in, unless it's something major, I plan to do weekly updates on Saturday. Sourcing the CO2, Filtration and Ferts this week. Lily Pipes will be arriving on the 23rd (according to Amazon, not Canada Purge) and Diffuser/Bubble Counter when it arrives from China. Which I was told between Oct 31 and Dec 4th. I have time. Gary PS: Comments, suggestions, questions are welcome. I'd be happy to entertain any of these 3.

My routine has been established.
During the night (as I go to bed), I cover the tank completely. In the morning I uncover the back and re-expose 1/4" of space at the back.
At 9am, I uncover the front (about half) for 15 minutes. I use the timer in my tablet. Afterwards I spray the entire tank again and reseal the front.
In the evening around 8pm, I re-mist the tank (based on if the plants look dry).
Just before going to bed, re-cover the back 1/4" exposed section. Repeat the following day.
Eat, sleep, mist, repeat.

I forgot one of my main purchase locations in my vendor list;
Big Al's : Stand, Flourite Black Sand Aqua Mania : 3 Seiryu Stones (1 turned into many) and Flourite Black Sand Petsmart : API pH Test Kit Ruffins : Laterite (55oz) Canadian Tire : Gorilla Glue, Single Noma Light Timer (Digital), Black Extension Cord
Walmart (Portage Ave location in Winnipeg) : Peat Pucks Petcetra (Ellice Ave location in Winnipeg) : Fluval Flora EBI/Flora (the chain shut down, I bought the entire kit on the final day for 53!!) Finnex Online : 2 X FugeRay Planted+ 11" LED Lights (both for $70, as there was a sale)
Wolfpack (online retailer on GTAAquaria Forum) : B.kedagang 'Mini' Amazon.ca : Nano Glass Lily Pipe Set (Inflow and Outflow, 13mm)
Anything in Bold is a local store.
It's been confirmed (as my hunch was correct) that the HC will develop it's own roots and anchor itself. As long the substrate remains moist I shouldn't have issues. So I have an uncontrolled experiment going on. It was easier cleaning, cutting and placing than the rooted version, let's see how this does in comparison though.

I have a strange request. Would it be possible to fill my Mister with someone's water from their weekly water change? Already established tank water is loaded with nutrients. I've noticed some yellowing on my HC already, which is indicative of low nutrient (Fe and P) levels.
The Mister is a spray bottle I picked up at Crappy Tire. Also, I am looking for an ExoTerra Hygrometer, I think my humidity levels are fluxing and wish to track the changes so I can correct it.
Still going on strong, the yellowing could be the HC adapting (which could also be the case) to the new conditions finally. Some are starting to develop small roots which are heading towards the substrate. My idea is solid. Mind you, this method only works for DSM.
My Lily Pipes should be arriving today. Only Finnex PX-360 I can find are on fleabay so I am going to be cautious as to whom I purchase from.
I will provide some pictures today. The Buce is actually starting to move (1 week in). Staurogyne repens is showing growth and I am guessing within 2 weeks, I'll be trimming this already!

Compared to the last picture I took last 2 days ago, I can see noticeable improvement in Buce (the ones that are surviving are also thriving) not only in coloration but also seeing new growth from some of the Rhizomes. Also I've noticed that the HC, is starting to fill in, is me or hopeful thinking but in 2 days, there has been improvement? I plan to wipe the glass down really good this evening, take a good photograph with my DSLR (while the phone is handy my DSLR is even better) and get some good Macro shots. I am still considering a Hygrometer to monitor and track humidity. Gary

Looks like things are moving along great. I have some dry fertiliser if you need some. Got both macros and micros. If you are looking to purchase fertiliser I highly recommend Northern Lights Hydroponics, they are located across Teprmans.

Les, thanks, but I found a source, quite surprisingly on the same street. Seems the neighbor has a Goldfish tank. They jokingly said at least this will remind them to change the water. It's just a mister full, I appreciate the offer. Gabe, augh, I'm not going to be on Film or put on a no fly list am I? Ok, I'll check it out and stop by Zehr's to get some Cookie Dough, Doritos and a 1L of Soda... ha ha ha. A local source of Macros and Micros would be wonderful. My Lily Pipes arrived yesterday evening. So now the pieces are falling into place. I am going to place an order today for a Finnex PX-360 on fleaBay. I can't seem to find ANY Canadian Vendors that sell this. Funny, I had the same issue with my Planted+ Lights, had to get them from the US as well. I definitely have growth, look at these two pictures; To get a good idea, go to zoom mode for both pictures. Picture 1 is initial planted, Picture 2 is last night. Also confirmed, simply placing or pressing lightly into the substrate for the HortLabs Tubbed HC WAS the correct method. I can see growth and expansion. All I do is keep the soil moist, not wet. Initial Planted was Saturday!!!!!!!!! Gary

Ha ha. Ok, I will check the place out. Looks like all I need is right there. Might run into some old classmates in the process. Ha
My 2-In-1 Glass Diffuser/Bubble Counter arrived today. Way earlier than the project Oct 31 to Dec 4 timeframe. Now, CO2 and Filter. I guess I will order them soon as the Christmas lunacy is about to begin. I'm not worried about the Posties, I am going UPS to avoid these monkeys.

Saturday Update - Week 1 After Planting
As you can see, the HC is starting to take off. I've noticed little "sprouts" popping up all over the place and confirmed root growth A shot from the Right side of the tank looking left. Notice the HC growth? This is going faster than I expected it would be. Buce has taken off, other than those 3 bits at the top (I believe the lights just cooked them), the rest has done wonderful as you can tell by the pictures. There is also new growth on the Rhizomes of a few of these. Overall, I'm impressed with this little project I've started. Almost not looking forward to filling this with water, but I do love the look of Blyxa. Updates as they happen if not, next Saturday. Gary

Change of plans... after reading about all sorts of issues with the Ista CO2 System, I am going to build my own Paintball CO2 System. This is good for a few reasons;
1) Local. I can purchase and refill the canisters locally. All I really need is the 20oz version and it should last me 3 to 4 months no issue 2) If anything goes wrong, it can be corrected.
So now I am going to source parts for this setup. Which means keep UPS and FedEX busier a little longer. Also with the Paintball system, I can build a system to my needs.
