Good morning Forum! For those who attended our meeting yesterday, this will come as no surprise. For those of you who missed out, here's a brief account of what went down: A vote was held concerning the fate of the Windsor Aquarium Society's logo. A resounding 100% of the members in attendance voted for change!! And with two alternate colour options presented of our potential new design, with a roughly 2/3 majority vote, I would like to present to you the next logo of the Windsor Aquarium Society!
The design has not been officially rolled out yet, but you can now see for yourself how the face of the club is going to change in the near future! (Not to mention how those who WERE in attendance can now view it as it's meant to be seen, instead of through a projector that caused it to go blurry and altered the colours)
I will do a write-up tonight or tomorrow as to why we decided to explore this new direction, for those who have been blindsided by this change. The people who were at the meeting were given a small presentation that explained my personal thoughts on the matter, and I do feel it is owed to all members. If you have any questions or concerns, do feel free to share them here!

Just a small addition, our base colour for the logo stays black. With that said as you can see, the new logo looks great on different backgrounds!

It is important to have it in forms that work in multiple settings.
If the logo were to be used on, say, a promotional flyer for a guest speaker, or a certificate, or a letterhead, or a BAP form, or whatever else the case may be, it would be terrible form to print it with a black square behind it just for it to show up as we would have it on a t-shirt, or a hat, or the banner, or a business card, etc.
The background cannot be only black, in all cases. We MUST have it available for all situations and uses.
This touches on the main reason I wanted to pursue a new design - the present logo is completely unforgiving in this exact way.

great job, one thing I did notice is the body stripe going through the fin, you may want to correct this before it goes into print.

Thanks for the note! I left it in because any pectoral fin I've seen on a discus has been perfectly transparernt. To be honest, I debated on even having that fin illustrated there at all, since it's so hard to see on them.
