Here’s a couple of pictures of my brine shrimp hatchery. It’s made of acrylic . It’s has three openings in the top , one for a heater and two for two litre empty pop bottles .

In this photo you can see that the lids of the bottles have a place in the bottom of the acrylic tank to hold them in place . So you simply fill both bottles and the tank with water , plug in the heater , add salt , air stone and eggs to the open bottle and wait a day or so and you have live brine shrimp to feed to your fish . If you require more live brine shrimp simply cut the bottom of the second bottle and hatch two batches at the same time .

Nice set up, you make it sound so easy. It would be interesting to try this

Well done!!! Just curious will there be a light above? If so I bet It will be LED strips to allow for easy net maneuvering. My Light fixtures get in the way in my set up, due to a low ceiling, a small fish room, and too many tanks.

Plan on going with LED light strips for that exact reason and of course lower power consumption.

What a treat to return to! I'm going to be enjoying this thread but the gravel inbetween the partitions is a great idea and yes, nice effect. Like a rockwall.
Good stuff Les!

Gary I must admit the gravel wall turned out pretty cool considering it was a spur of the moment decision. You guys have raised the bar pretty high which leaves me out of your league but I will try to entertain lol.

We all have our different talents, which means it all that more interesting at the meetings. Those C.pygmeaus there are on the short list for possible inhabitants at a later date, we might have to talk turkey... or in this case, Corydoras.

So I really didn’t know if these eggs would hatch seeing that they are over 5 years old . Now my hope was that since they have always been kept in the freezer that at least some would hatch . Well it’s been 21 hours since they were set up and incredibly I have freshly hatched baby brine shrimp . And on top of that it looks like a really good hatch rate . Here’s a picture after I used a turkey baster to suck a small portion out to feed some of my fish .

Those are incredibly sturdy eggs! Great hatch rate by the looks of it!
