I need to cycle some sponge filters. So if I set up the bubble sponge filters in an existing tank, how long will it take to get the sponge filters ready for use in a new tank. The sponge filters will be the only source of filtration in the new tanks

Around two weeks . You could also move some substrate, decor , plants etc to help kick start the new tank .

Ok thanks, would it help to squeeze a dirty Aqua Clear sponge in the new tank once it is running, but a couple of days before I put the fish in the tank ? Sub-straight and decor will all be new

I've gone with the good ole "Squeeze an existing sponge" into a new tank and the tank was ready the next day for fish. If you saturate the tank with enough beneficial bacteria you won't have a problem. Always good to check parameters to make sure but that's been my experience.
