Hi everyone! I want to share this very easy way to create a totally leak proof seal on a diy coke bottle co2 setup. This is a technique to attach the airline tubing through the bottle cap with NO LEAKS. It is so easy and can handle the pressure created even when using a ceramic diffuser. All you need is a drill, a straight airline tube connector, a bottle cap and some airline tubing. (see pics). For the airline tube connector, I just used one that I pulled out of an old white airstone.
Simply drill a hole in the bottle cap that is the SAME SIZE (or very slightly smaller) than the tubing. Cut the tubing at an angle and thread it through the hole.
Then cut the slanted bit off the tubing so that it has a normal flat end again and insert the airline connector into it.
Finally, pull the whole thing back through the bottle cap, shoving the airline connector with the hose through the hole as tightly as you can (I use my teeth to press it through)
That's it! No leaks!

That is a great idea! Perfect write up with great pictures! May I suggest using a pair of pliers instead of your teeth though..... sounds like you done this a few times by now.

Very nice and informative . Not being a CO2 user at this time I’d like to see your whole setup if possible .

My co2 setup is very basic. I just have a 2 liter pop bottle running through a ceramic diffuser. My yeast mixture recipe is two cups of white sugar, one teaspoon baking soda, and half a teaspoon quick yeast mixed with warm water about two thirds full. I refresh the mixture every 2 - 3 weeks or so. I’m going to have to try this out . Sounds simple enough even for me lol. Thanks for taking the time to educate an old guy lol .
