These would be fine species for large school on planted tank. They behave so cool

Added pool filter sand to brighten it up a bit. The rice fish are so far not impressed. Haven't seen them. Hahha. Plants are giant hygro, hydro sunset, various baby crypts, pigmy chain swords, a big mass of subwassertang and a bunch of Taiwan lilly floating. There is tropica planted tank soil under the sand. Added a nylon sock over the HOB intake, in case and fry ever show up I would like to make a large school of these. I am dosing macro and micro home made liquid ferts once a week. If I can dig up some hardscape around here I will add a few rocks and maybe some wood. Have a super day.

So 1 tank has become 3. I have been noticing fry. But they dont survive the gauntlet . With my 5 gallon guppy tanks empty. Because the guppies are outside. I'm going to play musical fish .

I made the mistake of moving plants around my ponds, now all of them have rice fish fry in them!

What is with you folk and Guppies? Every time I see one, this word pops into my mind, "Feeder".
Rice Fish though, nice, feed your guppies to bigger fish and keep working those Rice Fish.

Speaking of feeding. I have nothing on hand to feed these fry. I have so far only 3 amigos in the original tank. Been adding powdered flakes hoping they can get something. But I had a revelation. I take a container fill it with water and violently shake off the roots of water hyacinth I have outside. All kinds of creatures are coming out of there. I drive it through a fine mesh net into the tank. Only the smallest critters get through. And I'm seeing thier bellies swell. So I'm 99% sure they will be good until my infusoria culture matures to really get them going

Gary You know what. Guppies are awesome. I dont care what you say about that. But they wont be going into my planted tank unless they are high end strains. I really like line breeding them.

I have never been a Livebearer fan, unless it's something unusual like Ameca splendens...

Moved the 5 adult rice fish from the tank on the left to the tank on the right. Hoping they spawned in there so I can see more fry soon.
