Keep the water level low so that the fry can reach the surface to breath. As they get larger, raise the level slightly. Awesome! You should set this up for BAP!

And the water level right now is only 2-3 inches. They will be moved when larger and when my heater arrives in the mail (hence the makeshift incubator). Something busted up the nest the night after spawning, i had to scoop it and place it in a makeshift incubator since my heater on my fry tank busted last week and im currently waiting on my new one to arrive in the mail (haha could be next month!) Incubator is a styrofoam box used for live fish shipments, has a heat lamp in a bowl under it that it is sitting on top of. Gently aerated with an airline. Water is taken from parents tank. Temps sitting cozy at 78F. Stable too. I didnt expect the eggs to make the transfer, but they hatched in the incubator and so far no losses. All fry are wriggly and active, some starting to swim around more, many resting here and there. Tomorrow i will start on the infusoria feeding.

Breeders Award Points. While the club is currently on Pause during this crisis, you can still document rearing the fry and have it go towards points. Go to the windsoraquaria.proboards.com/board/24/breeders-award-program, last two Posts at the bottom of the Announcements page for that section. Ok, you are going through all the right steps! Do water changes daily as well, cleaner the water, the higher the yield of fry in the end. Gary

Day 2! I still got all the fry living. Water changes will need to be very delicate with how small they are still lol Ill look into that, thanks!

Ah... so to bring this up, theres a possibility one of the parents is a hybrid. People on other forums have told me many things, but the two leading things are either a hybrid gourami or a wild type DG... if a hybrid father, theres the fact these fry will be part mixed too. These are the parents. Mom is on the right and dad on the left. Dad is the questioned fish.

The color on the Male does seem a bit washed out, but this could be the light, camera or mixture of both. How colorful is it without a picture? Can you compare it to a Wild Type and see any differences? So far, it has all the coloration and markings of a standard T.lalia.
If either of the Parents are hybrids, you will have some fry showing these traits.

Reflective neon blue marks, totally changes depending on the angle. Ill post other photos. He is also small. Like only 2.5 inches tops. Ive had him since i first started keeping fish (he and a molly were our first fish) I took this photo today Few months ago... The previous photos in my last post were taken with my camera with flash. These ones with my phone without flash. This photo is when we first got him as a little baby.

Hmmm I think "Dad" comes from a Honey morph spawn.

So honey hybrid? Hm. Well then at least for people buying the babies, ill be sure to be up front that theyre probably coming from hybrid parents. This wasnt even an intentional spawn. I had them in my community tank. Did absolutely nothing for them to spawn. They built the nest smack in front of the filter even. Weirdos lol either way, here we are. Day 3, started infusoria feedings and the babies are free swimming, actually moving around carefully and deliberately. Theyre picking at bits of stuff on the roots of the salvinia too. So neat to see. Only fish ive bred before this was platies and mollies, so this is an experience. My cherry barbs have spawned but none were successful as they ate the eggs lol But im pretty excited about it as i had wanted to breed them, though when i found out he was possibly a hybrid, i was on the fence about it... but they went and did it anyways Day 3 babies!

Sometimes the accidental spawnings are the best ones. This is how I managed to get into breeding Otocinclus way back when...
