Well we all heard about the litter critters that aquarists are collecting and raising for their fish. How about collecting leaf litter, and tannin materials? Has anyone done this? Well besides me... Here is my mulberry leaves for the shrimp I’m keeping. They love munching on the biofilm that covers the leaves as they disintegrate in the aquarium!

I used Oak Tree Leaves when I was in Saskatoon. I boiled the snot out of them first before placing them in the tank. Make sure you do that. Also, make sure you know the source of course at this time of year it is much safer.

The leaves are from my mulberry tree. Right off the branches. I used to raise silkworms on it too! They were fun too!
